The Hollywood Reporter Women in Entertainment Canada is delighted to announce that internationally acclaimed actor and producer Malin Akerman will be honoured with the IMPACT Award at this year’s third annual event on Thursday, May 28 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Toronto.
The Hollywood Reporter Women in Entertainment Canada’s IMPACT Award was created to recognize the positive impact of Canada’s trailblazers whose careers have advanced the representation of women in the entertainment industry, and whose artistic vision and excellence have inspired audiences at home and around the world.

Over almost 30 years Malin Akerman has amassed a body of work demonstrating intelligence, substance, and versatility. Her many roles portray women on screen with depth, wit, vulnerability, and strength, helping to shape contemporary storytelling on the world stage.
Spanning over 75 major studio features, independent films, and acclaimed television series, Akerman has consistently demonstrated remarkable range, seamlessly moving between comedy, drama, and complex character-driven roles.
Most recently, Akerman has captivated audiences with her commanding performance in the smash breakout hit The Hunting Wives, a gripping drama from Lionsgate and 3 Arts that has quickly become a cultural conversation piece.
